The TACC East Bay is more than a building. It is a living home for the Taiwanese American community — a place where heritage is honored, relationships are nurtured, and new generations find belonging.
Rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area, TACC East Bay serves as a vibrant hub where Taiwanese Americans gather to celebrate culture, share stories, and support one another. Through regular classes, workshops, and cultural programs, we provide opportunities for learning across generations — from language and arts to civic engagement and professional development. Our programs are designed not only to preserve Taiwanese heritage, but also to empower our community to thrive in American society with confidence and pride.
Beyond cultural preservation, TACC East Bay is committed to building bridges. We actively engage with local communities and institutions, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration. By connecting Taiwanese Americans with the broader Bay Area, we strengthen mutual understanding and enrich the multicultural fabric of our region.
At the same time, we look outward. TACC East Bay seeks to cultivate international exchange, linking Taiwan and the United States through cultural, educational, and professional partnerships. We envision a center where ideas, talent, and friendships flow across borders — where Taiwan’s voice is represented with dignity and creativity on the global stage.
For Taiwanese living abroad, TACC East Bay is a place to reconnect with roots, language, and shared memory. It is where children learn the stories of their ancestors, where new immigrants find guidance and companionship, and where long-time residents rediscover a sense of home. Here, the spirit of Taiwan lives on — not as nostalgia, but as a dynamic force shaping the future.
Founded in 2025, TACC East Bay is built with a long-term vision. We are committed to sustainable growth, thoughtful leadership, and intergenerational stewardship. This is not a temporary project, but a century-long commitment — a legacy institution that will serve future generations with resilience and purpose.
東灣台美人文化會館不只是一棟建築，更是一個有溫度、有記憶、有未來的家。它承載著台美人的文化根源，也孕育著下一代的希望與認同。
立足於舊金山灣區，會館是一個開放而充滿活力的社群平台。我們定期開設語言、文化藝術、專業發展與公共參與等課程與講座，舉辦節慶活動、論壇與交流聚會，讓不同世代在這裡學習、對話與成長。文化傳承不只是保存過去，更是讓傳統在當代生活中持續發光，成為社群自信與力量的來源。
除了服務台美人社群，會館也積極與當地社區建立連結，與各族裔團體、學校及機構合作交流，促進理解與合作。我們相信，台美人的故事與價值，是灣區多元文化的重要一環；透過持續對話與參與，我們為社會帶來更豐富的視角與貢獻。
同時，我們放眼國際，致力於促進台灣與美國之間的文化、教育與專業交流。會館將成為跨國連結的平台，讓創意、人才與理念自由流動，讓台灣的聲音在國際舞台上被看見、被理解、被尊重。
對於旅居海外的台灣人而言，這裡是一個可以找回語言與記憶的地方，是新移民獲得支持與陪伴的據點，也是第二代、第三代認識自身文化根源的橋樑。在這裡，台灣不只是地理名詞，而是一種持續傳承、與時俱進的精神。
東灣台美人文化會館創立於2025年。我們以長遠經營為使命，建立穩健制度與世代傳承的基礎。這不是短期計畫，而是一項百年志業——為未來世代打造永續發展、持續發光的文化家園。

核心幹部
Dr. Daniel Ko
理事長 柯耀宗博士 | President
柯耀宗，1940年出生於台中大安，幼年家中經濟陷入困頓，他不因此氣餒，更養成凡事不放棄，要把事情做得更好的精神及意志。他在台灣大學化工系畢業後，1963年前往美國堪薩斯州立大學留學，於1968年取得西北大學化工博士學位。随後，進入石油公司任職，並與友人共同創立匹兹堡台灣同鄉會，積極參加海外台灣人運動。1973年他來到美國東岸的杜邦公司，在研發工作外，更在專案管理上發揮長才。1990年代前往中國整頓公司營運量產問題，其後，擔任杜邦公司亞洲技術轉讓總監，在中國工作10年的經驗，更加強其台灣不能被中國併吞的信念。2001年，從杜邦退休後，柯耀宗回到台灣，擔任新光合纖總經理，帶領公司成功轉型並轉虧為盈。2012年退休後，創辦「東灣台美人長樂會」等團體，再積極投入台美人事務，目前正在籌建「東灣台美人文化會館」，為促進台美人和美國社區交流、及台灣價值與文化的傳承，持續努力中。
Born in 1940 in Daan, Taichung, Dr. Daniel Ko developed an unwavering spirit and a drive for excellence despite growing up in financial hardship. After graduating from the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University, he studied at Kansas State University in 1963 and earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1968. He then worked at an oil company, co-founded the Pittsburgh Taiwanese Association, and actively participated in the overseas Taiwanese movement. In 1973, he joined DuPont on the East Coast, demonstrating his expertise in both R&D and project management. In the 1990s, he went to China to resolve the company's operational and mass production issues, later serving as DuPont's Director of Technology Transfer for Asia. His 10 years of experience in China reinforced his conviction that Taiwan must not be annexed by China. Retiring from DuPont in 2001, Dr. Ko returned to Taiwan to serve as General Manager of Shinkinkong Synthetic Fibers, leading the company's successful transformation and return to profitability. Since retiring again in 2012, he founded the "East Bay Taiwanese American Senior Association" and actively dedicated himself to Taiwanese American affairs. Currently, he is spearheading the establishment of the "TACC East Bay," continuously working to promote interactions between Taiwanese Americans and local communities while passing on Taiwanese values and culture.
Dr. Ed Huang
副理事長 黃東昇 博士 | Vice President
1936年出生於日本新潟，兩歳隨父母由日本回到台南・1940年再隨父親至馬尼拉，親身經歷菲律賓在戰爭下，由美國與日本統治的更迭。戰後1946年，父親被美軍當作日本戰俘由馬尼拉送回日本，母親則帶三個小孩子冒險設法平安回到故鄉台南。1960年赴美留學，1966年取得化工博士學位，其後任職於石油公司，並隨工作旅居美國東部、中部、西部等地。1995年曾回母校成功大學擔任客座教授。住美期間積極參與台灣同鄉會活動：曾擔任匹茲堡台灣同鄉會首屆會長，北加州台灣同鄉聯合會會長，主辦美西台灣人夏令會，參與創設美西台灣人夏令會理事會等，並曾任北美洲台灣人教授協會總會長，編輯教授協會《十年的回顧》歷史，參與創設教授協會廖述宗教授纪念獎等。現在退休定居於加州舊金山區。
Born in Niigata, Japan in 1936, Dr. Ed Huang moved with his parents to Tainan at age two, and in 1940 accompanied his father to Manila, experiencing firsthand the transition between American and Japanese rule in the Philippines during WWII. After the war in 1946, his father was sent back to Japan by the US military as a Japanese prisoner of war, while his mother braved the journey to bring her three young children safely back to their hometown of Tainan. He went to study in the US in 1960, earning his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1966. Subsequently, he worked at an oil company and lived in various parts of the Eastern, Central, and Western United States for his career. In 1995, he returned to his alma mater, National Cheng Kung University, as a visiting professor. During his time in the US, he actively participated in Taiwanese Association activities: serving as the founding president of the Pittsburgh Taiwanese Association and president of the Taiwanese-American Federation of Northern California. He also organized the Taiwanese American Conference / West Coast, co-founded its board of directors, and served as President of the North America Taiwanese Professors' Association (NATPA). Dr. Huang authored NATPA's "A Ten-Year Retrospective" history and contributed to the establishment of the Professor Shyy-Jong Liao Memorial Award. He is currently retired and residing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
